AMOTHER'S LOVE ( A MOTHER'S TRIBUTE TO HER OWN DAUGHTER )

Out of the seven entries of the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival, I've gotten the chance to watch 3 films and one of them is Mano Po...A Mother's Love.To be honest the reason why I watched the film, aside from being enthusiastic to see my favorite Ms. Cuneta in a wide screen once again, whom I believe is an admirable performer, was the title of the movie that inspired me as well.The movie presented the faultless and undiminished Mother's love.As we all know, mothers are supposed to love their children unconditionally, and I'm pleased to say that I consider myself one of them. From the time I conceived my four children up to this very moment, I still have a photographic memory in my heart and mind the pain and glory of bringing them out into this world. Besides the ordeals that I went through, I likewise value the moments I had, with each one of them, especially when they were still young.I still recall how they were as babies, as teenagers and in the course of time what they are now and what they have become.That's how I treasure each one of them.Now my children are all grown - ups, as a matter of fact 2 of them, are wed and have kids of their own.But never will it hinder me of continually protecting, defending and insuring their safety as a mother should. Unusually, as mothers we are delicate and sensitive, especially when our children are finally on their own. At times, we carelessly tend to be senseless and cross beyond normal limits.We refuse to let go those moments that our children were yet kids, always depending on us, wanting us to be constantly around them.We refuse to accept the fact that they have already their own lives to live,new priorities and other things to attend to, aside from us.Though we are aware of this we choose to be stubborn to get once again their full attention.Why? for the reason we simply refuse to let go of them.That's how we mothers are, our love for our children is ultimate, no ifs,and no borders.Sometimes our children could hardly get the idea why we are acting this way, but I'm sure when their time comes, that's when they realize why.I remember, one time my daughter commented that I was being childish.I admit that I was acting so, for I wanted it my way.You see when my daughter being a hard working entrepreneur, gets too busy with her business, It's so hard for me to get in her way.I just miss my oldest baby I used to cuddle in my arms.Though I understand that's how it is.Anyway I'm proud of my daughter, at an early age I consider her successful on her chosen craft. And that goes with the rest of my brood.Anyway enough with bragging, just happened to mention my daughter in connection w/ the movie, Mano Po... A Mother's Love wherein the oldest daughter of Ms. Cuneta, played by Heart Evangelista, became a successful business woman, though her aim was quite wicked, to get even with her mother. Whereas in my daughter's case it's the contrary and completely different, the reason why I'm so proud of her.Being a mother myself this is one topic that's really close to my heart.Allow me to end my blog with this phrase..."A mother's love is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, it never fails or falters, even though the heart is breaking” .True enough,HOW ABOUT YOU MOTHERS OUT THERE DON'T YOU AGREE?

AFFLICTION

The outlook of an individual reflects on what's in the core of his heart and soul.The person may try to portray otherwise, yet the genuine character will eventually come out. I'm simply referring to my personal observation,not trying to act as a psychologist, nor an expert on human behavior. But I believe any speculator like me could attest to that.You could easily detect a pathetic personality, even in an ordinary sharing of opinions and views.An ideal example of this is,dealing on topics of success,instead of giving positive reaction on the specific subject matter, the person has always negative comments to argue with.During light situations you are in, he always has a way to inject complicated footing thus making the whole scenario melancholy.As I've said, when anger or hatred wraps-up your spirit, you tend to shun away from being productive, instead you drown yourself to self pity & most likely turn to be abortive.
People with behavior as this are also characterized as cynical.Meaning, they are always expecting bad outcomes, instead of being hopeful.It is useless to argue with this type of people or else before you know it you might turn out to be just like one of them.One thing that's alarming to deal with such,are their expertise on manipulating unsteady and weak personality.
I hate to appraise such kind of person,though to encounter behaviors as this are often times annoying and usually provoking.But as I contemplate, I believe, that maybe they are just in need of compassion and understanding for they didn't choose to be like this.I guess it's no easy to be in their shoe, I feel to be in a state of mental torture is no wieldy. Given the chance, I think they also might turn out to be sympathetic and lovable.Maybe all they need is affection and TLC. Anyway there's always a chance to undergo an innovation process, if we want to.Only we must first learn to accept our affliction so we can move on for the better if not for the best.

OUR FUTURE GENERATION

Basically when a child is born,the family and relatives rejoice and celebrate.A baby is considered as God's gift.A newly born baby is a symbol of innocence and purity. We are even careful and cautious in handling this gift, and we are bound to treasure and cherish this helpless little creature. As parents or acceptor of this gift, we are compelled to take good care of what is assigned to us by our Creator.Our task as parents is to raise this innocent creature from being helpless into a person of humane character.
Sometimes, I wonder how an individual turn out to be someone detestable,loathsome and outcast of society.Aren't they the once innocent and helpless babies we used to cuddle in our arms because they looked so small and fragile? maybe, correct me if I'm wrong there was mishandling that happened along the way.I believe that a family is an important segment of a society.A father and a mother are the one responsible on how a person should turn out to be.I believe that Parenthood is an effortful kind of job.It's a great accountability to God and to our Society.The kind of human being we will raise will surely affect not only within the periphery of our homes but through out the community, and eventually the entire Nation.That's why, we should give the best of our ability to raise our young. Some parents may ask the most effective formula to raise up good children, I guess there's no ideal formula for us to follow. Simply install the importance of respect, honesty and integrity in their hearts and mind.Spirituality is also a considerable factor and the most substantial aspect is for us Parents to lead as good example to our kids.Children usually look up to their idols, who often times and most likely, it is either their mother or father, that's why while they are still in that stage make the most out of it, by molding their character and behavior for the better.So that when the time comes for them to explore and discover further in the outer world by themselves, at least that embedded nature we install inside them will serve as their guide to choose the better from the worse, right from wrong and honesty from cheat.
I am certain that life is a cycle or a chain reaction.Meaning good begets righteousness, as bad begets evil act.If we parents install in our children good behavior and spirituality I'm sure they'll turn out to be better citizens in our society.And better yet good future leaders for our ailing country.Somehow the fulfillment of a GOOD NATION in the future lies on how we rear our young ones TODAY.

FORGIVENESS as a sign of HUMILITY

Enough with these Bureaucratic issues. Seems like, I'm starting to sound too concern.My son comically commented that it looks like Political inclination is starting to build up in my system.Scornfully he asked me if I intend to run for a Public Office, comes 2010. Instead of feeling annoyed he made me laugh, aside from the fact that I'm a bit too late for the incoming elections and quite advance for the next.I guess, adding my name to the lengthy list of nuisance candidates won't help. Somehow, COMMELEC has gotten an ample share of headaches already.Besides, I guess even my family will never support this concept knowing how impatient and sensitive I am when it comes to dirt.
Anyway, at this point I would like to tackle a different issue. This time, a domestic matter.Liza, is a childhood friend of mine, .I fondly call her my godsister, for her departed mother happened to be my Godmother. .Every now and then she pays me a visit. I consider her as one of my most trusted friends, aside from being my dear godsister.Her first marriage ended too soon, for her husband died so untimely, leaving her with four kids.After two years of single parenthood, she decided to marry again for the second time.To make the story short, her 2nd husband's fate was unfortunately similar with the first one, only this time it has been a prolonged agony for both of them since he died of cancer.And she got three kids by him.Nevertheless, she was able to cope with the situation, being a successful business woman.I remember we used to entertain ourselves out of our situation of being single parents, I often tell her that I accede that she surpass me on this aspect, considering that she became a single parent, out of bereavement, while in my case is out of cheating and dishonesty.Going back to my godsister, her children from her first marriage are all married now and successful with their own chosen path.All of them are living now in Bacolod, their father's hometown.My friend wish to spend Christmas with them, and looking forward of spending time with her grandchildren again, but the problem is, there's that unending conflict between her and the relatives of her first husband ever since she married again.Now what pains her is the idea that her children are already influenced by them.She could feel that they aren't just physically away but their affection as well. I tried to console her by suggesting that since it's Christmas Season it would be a perfect timing to make the first move to make amend to these people.Anyway, she just followed her heart... though for the second time it doesn't make any difference from the first.Trying to convince her, I assured her that i'm confident that they are basically good and forgiving people, I think.Though I'm not convince that my godsister committed something wrong.It doesn't matter anyway because someone has to make the first move or else nothing will be resolve.I believe that forgiveness and humility comes hand in hand. Bestowing forgiveness especially to those who doesn't ask is a sign of humility.Allow me to end this issue by declaring that each of us knows that if we continue on our Christian path towards our salvation, we must avoid pride at all cost, since pride consumes all that is good in this life. ... If we desire this love of our Lord God, then we must consider humility as a great Christianvirtue in our life.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Martial Law has been lifted already.Can't figure out how to react or feel, if I should be thankful or apprehensive about this.To be honest, I'm not sure until now whether I was for or against the Proclamation of Martial Law in Maguinanao (only, I would surely oppose for the extension, in both areal and the time duration as agreed upon).What was being questioned really was the rationale behind the declaration.That's why, placing our confidence in the uprightness of our Government Officials counts a lot, if not there will always be that formidable feeling every time they make a drastic move as this one.
But then, I guess as long as Maguindanao, remains under the supervision and control of the Military, deployed by the Administration, the people in that area will at least be out of harm. I just hope that the safety of the residents in this place will be properly guarded and Human rights will be carefully preserved.Added inhuman incidents in this place will I guess be considered as bizarre and really vicious already.
As I recall the ruthless event that happened in Maguindanao, can't help but sympathize with the grieving families of the innocent victims of the AMPATUANS and their collaborators.The media men and women included in that monstrous killings are most if not all stand as a bread winner in their family. Real Justice must be served to these poor victims.These criminals did not only kill those victims but much more the future of the bereaved families of these people they brutally killed.Most of the dependents,are children, wives,sisters, brothers, parents and other relatives.
These suspects, as well as the witnesses who are now under the custody of the military and NBI must be cautiously watched and attended.It would be unrelenting if they'll be given the chance to get off from jail and much more from what they did.
In the meantime, it is not only the criminals or the people behind this dreadful killing that are being accounted for by the entire Nation , but also the Government, on how they'll carry on with the inquest and eventually bring justice not only to the victims but to all Filipinos as well.

KNOWLEDGE W/O INTEGRITY

It all started w/ a txt message, informing that a gruesome murder happened in a certain place called, SHARIFF AGUAK located somewhere in MAGUINDANAO. Only to be uncovered later, that it was NOT just a usual killing that we’ve known before, but something more horrible and to be considered as the most inhuman act, that ever happened in the history of reported cases of massacre, murders and killings in our country.Though this incident is still under investigation, it has already marked globally a negative impact to our country and the present Administration.The whole world’s attention is focus on us, because of this horrible incident, especially on how our Government will handle this gruesome event.This morbid and inhuman act that happened in Maguindanao is initiated by greed and hunger for power.The Ampatuan Clan, who’s the Primary suspect of this gruesome massacre, and killed 57 innocent people, is considered as the most powerful, feared and influential personalities not only in Shariff Aquak but in the entire Mindanao.As the investigation of this case is being taken, at the same time being watched all over the world,many doubtful and suspicious concealed foulness slowly came out into open.Among them are the numerous HIGHLY POWERFUL WEAPONS that this family possess, the 25 huge mansions they own, Huge amount of money they have in their private vaults, the numerous private armies they have, not to mention a battalion of military men under their influence and authority.But the most scandalous of all is their being linked and identified with GMA and known to be very much influential to the present Administration, Thus believed to be behind the magnanimous votes that Pres.GMA got in the past elections.It has been observed that at 1st the Government made a vague move towards the incident that took place n Maguindanao, until the event became so sensationalized and scrutinized not only by Media but the entire World especially U.S.Now what is being questioned is the President’s motive behind the declaration of MARTIAL LAW and suspension of the WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS in Maguindanao.In fact at present this proclamation is being heard in a joint session of the House of Rep. and the Senate House to decide whether to revoke or not the declaration of Martial Law in the said Province.While our so called learned people are discussing about this matter, I think the least we can do as responsible citizens in this country is to continue to be vigilant with this so called transparent and impartial investigation of this gruesome multiple murders of innocent people.As one of the senators COMMENTED about this action of the Government in connection w/ the Proclamation of Martial Law in Maguindanao, “Maybe as of now Martial Law is restricted in the Province of Maguindanao only, what if, the whole island of Mindanao will be included later, and before we know it, as worse will come to worse the entire nation at that time will already be under Martial Law, GOD FORBIDS . In totality I think what is being questioned here is not only Martial Law per se, but also the real intention of the President of our Country of her sudden and abrupt action that caused us to panic and at the same time to be anxious, so with the other Bureaucrats in our country.It’s a fact that our President is knowledgeable when it comes to strategic moves such as this, being the highest Ranking Official of our Land, the reason why we should be alert and take this matter seriously.FOR Knowledge and Power are dangerous and dreadful without integrity.

JUST A COMMENTARY

I may sound patriotic this time. But I really feel... outrage of what is happening to our country today. If this country of ours could only protest...she might break her silence by saying"please spare me a piece of kindness and your indulgence, I'm hurting, really hurting".
While I was listening to my favorite TV program this morning, the host of the program read on air the clamors of our fellow citizens through text, I couldn't help but laugh at their comments.Instead of expressing their anger in an offensive manner, they direct what they feel through comedy.This is one thing that makes me feel proud to be a Filipino.Despite of all the hardships we are going through as a Nation,we can still make the whole situation lighter, through our Pinoy Jokes. Pinoys are fun loving people by nature aside from being labeled as music lovers,why?tell me, when did you attend a Pinoy informal gathering that karaoke singing portion isn't one of the agenda?may it be here or abroad.
We can't hide the fact that our people is hurting, especially the common people or the masses.We are the one taken for granted, the one being used and abuse especially during election, and to think that the salary of our Government Officials and those considered as bureaucrats of the administration comes from our hard earned money, from the income tax we pay every year.Joke or no joke this is true.Anyway one thing that is considered as an asset to us Pinoys is our being survivors. In any situation, condition or circumstances we are in we still endure.I compare ourselves as a Nation to a Bamboo known to be a unique plant that standstill in both tension and compression and characterize, with a compressive strength that increases as it gets older.While Pinoys endurance to hardships and tribulation is absolute.

BEASTS!

The recent gruesome event that took place in Maguindanao,must be condemned not only by the Filipino people but the entire world, this ruthless and cold-blooded act is so inhuman and barbaric in nature. No person in his right senses may even think of doing such a disgraceful act, only with those abhorrent character are capable of doing such a horrible execution, sad to say they are beasts,they are even lower than the lowest form of animals that you can think of…..GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY, PHILIPPINES.
I , myself despise the person or persons behind this monstrous incident that happened.Imagine as to the last update, there are already 57 bodies recovered from the crime scene,and a big manhole was made to hide their evil deeds,thus making this crime a pre-meditated multiple murder.And to think that the evidences and testimonies of the witnesses are all pointing to the direction of the Ampatuan clan as the mastermind of this awful massacre. If you got no idea who this clan is, this happens to be the most powerful clan in Maguindanao, that belongs to a Political Dynasty, and believed behind the magnanimous votes that GMA got from the said area.
Imagine, one of the alleged suspects of this recent awful massacre, Mayor Ampatuan jr. of Magindanao,who is fortunately under the custody of NBI right now,is ironically complaining of chest-pain due to lack of ventilation in his cell and thus according to him causing the temperature unbearable hot …. my gosh ! Aren’t he aware that it’s nothing compared to hell where he is supposed to belong.
Another thing that dismayed me a lot was when it was exposed that some high Ranking Police Officials were found to be collaborators of this horrible happening.Maybe it escaped from their minds that their job was to protect the people from offenders and outlaws.Sad to say, they themselves are evildoers.I know, I’m in no position to pre- judge them but I wish … I just wish they’ll burn in hell!
On the other hand,how disgusting to know that GMA appears to be keeping her distance from this case.She deliberately abandoned the gruesome incident,by turning over her responsibility to one of her cabinet members.It’s clear that there is a string attached between the Ampatuan Clan and the present administration.No need for a professional analyst to explain just for us to view clearly the complete picture.It only shows the kind of GOVERNANCE we have under GMA, SOOO… CORRUPT!
Now, we are given another chance to correct the MISTAKES we did in the past elections ….another election period is coming, in 2010 I just hope this time we’ll be more careful, clever and responsible enough to exercise our sovereignty to vote, for our and our children future.
