AWAKENING

That was absolutely a disaster and definitely alarming! I'm referring to the tragedy brought to us by  typhoon ONDOY . He totally lambasted this country with  vengeance, leaving with so many fatalities,  many families were left homeless, lots of destruction of both private and public properties, not to mention the trauma and  unending anguish for those who lost their loved ones .I guess what partly caused the sudden and abrupt rise up of rain water through out Central Luzon were this unresolvable issue of illegal logging, and  the poor sewage system. Thus makes me wonder shouldn't be this problem must be government's priority concern, especially the drainage system? after all the primary reason of having chosen them run this nation  is because we believe in their uprightness and sincerity to serve the Filipino people.    In the other hand, that incident also served, as an awakening . Maybe God wants to relay a message to us, something like... slow down for a while children, pause for awhile and meditate, you've been too busy lately, doing your own thing. Imagine, based from the weather bureau information, the heavy rain that took place   within six hours only, aside from the gusty wind brought by typhoon ONDOY was comparable to a month downpour of heavy rain already. What amazed me  was to discover some celebrities on top of  their rooftop waiting helplessly to be rescued as well.Thinking that their houses are concrete and tall, I couldn't help but wonder.... how about those living in small houses and in shanties who are referred to as less privilege.
But just the same, as the saying goes "After the rain comes sunshine", we filipinos are forever hopeful , we never lose our anticipation for a brighter tomorrow, in spite all the catastrophes that come our way.And what really inspires me a lot is the "bayanihan spirit " we filipinos are born with, wherever we may be .It comes out within us naturally, especially during calamities like this. Always ready to extend a helping hand to those who are in need. But at the same time, may THIS serve as an awakening to all of us, that nobody is spared when the finale comes.
